Polarography laboratory is one of the geochemistry laboratories of Research Center of Geological Survey of Iran. Main activity of this laboratory is analysis of metal elements in geochemical and mineralized samples, principally, analysis of elements such as Tungsten (w) and Molybdenum (Mo).    
The basis of voltametric techniques is mainly on the control of electrode potential and measurement of resulted current. Polarography is a voltametric technique in which Dropper Mercury Electrode (DME) is used as work electrode.
In normal Polarography, the potential of DME against reference electrode is scanned from the starting to final potential linearly and the resulted current is measured until the polarogram of interest is obtained.

 This laboratory which has 1 expert and 1 technician, is used for preparation of different elements such W, Mo. In this laboratory, samples are weighted and then, are introduced into furnace under very high temperature. Finally, samples after neutralization and addition of indicators are prepared to be read out by polarograph.
Polarograph Laboratory Preparation Steps:
- Weighting 0.25gr of samples
- Basic fusion with NaOH, KOH
- Neutralization with H2SO4
- Addition of Mandelic Acid, Sinchonin, NaCl
- Instrumental Readout
