 Scientific – Research Center Laboratories

Applied Geological Research Center of Geological Survey of Iran is a main center for offering laboratory services including sample preparation and etc. which are served by experienced personnel & technicians and using modern laboratory instruments.
This center has ability to study on different explorative, geochemistry and geology projects, etc. with very high operational potentials. In addition, there are the most modern & standard laboratory instruments of the world in this center which are unique on number of samples to be analyzed, detection limit, precision, sensitivity, speed and type of samples.

4 main important sections for establishment of a standard laboratory:
1. Preparation unit: In this unit, there are instruments used for crushing, grinding (to 200 mesh) & dissolving samples (lab hood, furnace, vessels, etc)
2. Instrumental analysis unit: The most important factors for chemical analysis of samples is high precision & accuracy, high sensitivity for analysis of matrices, proper detection limit, high speed & cost efficiency of analysis
3. Archives: One of the most important sections of geochemistry laboratories are archives that samples are stored & classified before preparation.
4. Microscopic Analysis Unit: One of the main units of a laboratory center is microscopic analysis unit that is a complementary to instrumental equipments unit.
Note that, in this center, there is one laboratory in each section.

Application of modern laboratory instruments on standard levels of the world, gathering all instruments in the same place, serving experienced experts & technicians for each section make a proper opportunity for developing the geology projects. There are 4 main geological sections with modern laboratories in this center which include:
1. Geochemistry laboratories
2. Medical Geology Laboratories
3. Marine Geology Laboratories
4. Gemology Laboratories
